That's how it's always struck me, that it's more about cherry-picking what it interests you to read, rather than formulating mutual friendships. It just feels a bit more formal than LJ. Plus honestly it always felt like all the 'cool kids' went over there, pitying those of us who didn't want to make the break from LJ, and it can be hard to shake that first impression, even though I'm sure that it is a pretty ridiculous and unfair one!
