Lol I used to own The Blessing Way and Paper Clip on video, I remember those scenes with Mulder seeming sooo profound at the time, but yeah no :P The scene with Skinner and the memorised codes is still pretty cool though, although in retrospect it doesn't make a lot of sense how so many of them managed to memorise the codes in that amount of time...Maybe Skinner really was bluffing, he just played it so convincingly badass that he managed to sway the CSM and the audience!

And Hell Money really was so dour and awful, it didn't feel like an X-File at all. It was by the same write who did 2Shy and I didn't like that one much either, IMO his episodes weren't the best fit for The X-Files

And yeah I think that people today often overlook that a lot of the mytharc was pretty groundbreaking for its time, considering that at one point the network were insisting that every episode needed to be wrapped up and given closure, it was pretty unusual for them to set up that kind of narrative and trust in the audience to follow it and keep up. Not that I always can admittedly :P
