God, I saw The Blessing Way recently for some reason and I was awestruck at how bad it was. In the 90s I don't think I understood how awful Magical Native Americans were. I just thought the whole Navajo code talker thing was cool.

When I watched it at the time, I tended to be bothered by episodes where Mulder and Scully weren't getting along. So a lot of the humour in WotC was lost on me, alas.

Hell Money was the actual worst. Possibly one of the worst episodes pre-California.

Jose Chung, conversely, almost certainly the best X-Files episode.

I always liked the mytharc ones the best, rendering me also in the weird minority of X-Philes. Of course now a lot of it is cringeworthy, especially given the last season, but I think it shaped my love of long-form narratives in TV. Also from about S4 onward I was way more interested in the bad guys, and the MotW episodes never featured them.
