It kind of exemplified a lot of DW themes for me. Silly, campy fun with a dark undercurrent, humans-as-villains, the misunderstood monster, genre mashups, and so on. I honestly don't understand why people didn't like it, except that I think sometimes I don't watch DW for the same reasons other people do.
