it was definitely a good episode still and actually one of the stronger example of that format (I didn't care for The Hungry Earth or The Almost People two-parters at all, this was definitely a step-up for them for me), but at the same time it's just not the type of episode that I get particularly excited about
Yes, me too! I mean it's a silly thing to dislike and be a DW fan because they've been doing them since at least The Tenth Planet if not before and I doubt they'll stop soon, but my heart sinks every time New Who does it.
That said, I actually really enjoyed that one. It's just - lots of dim lighting, claustrophobia, and emphasis on tenseness/scariness and picking the crew off is not me. I like more character stuff and lighter moments in there. And brighter lighting! (I was not a child of the 1980s BBC for nothing! :lol:)
