There seems to be no real morality at all definitely, it's all about keeping your loved ones in your life at any cost, even when the cost is usually paid by other people. It was really bad this season when we were supposed to frown on Stefan's betrayal and root for our main characters to free Enzo, even though the fake Sarah Salvatore (among many other future victims I'm sure!) had her neck snapped as a direct result of that, and Enzo is certainly looking to cause more harm as part of his vendetta against Stefan
