The ATX Television Festival staged a 15-year anniversary reunion of The WB’s Roswell on Sunday. Stars Shiri Appleby, Jason Behr, Brendan Fehr, Majandra Delfino and Nick Wechsler were reportedly there, along with creator Jason Katims. The sci-fi series debuted 1999 and ran for three seasons (the last on UPN) before getting axed due to soft ratings in 2002. At one point in its run, fans sent The WB Tabasco sauce (which the show’s aliens liked to eat) to try and sway the network to keep the show going.

Any Roswell fans on my flist? :D

I was! I even wrote fanfic for it in the early going (it sort of went off the rails on the WB though).

Not WB. UPN. Ooopsie.

No Heigl or Hanks, I see.

Apparently they both responded on twitter that they had scheduling conflicts. I'm not sure why William Sandler couldn't make it though

I remember really enjoying the first season, but finding the second season already becoming a bit of an incoherent mess with all of the random sci fi that they introduced. I'm quite tempted to have a rewatch now

Yeah (revealing I know way, way, way too much about this). It all went haywire when Katims did less and the guy who later did the Battlestar Galactica reboot came on to produce and started doing all sorts of weird sci-fi shit to the show.

Katims was also awesome with Friday Night Lights.

I remember hearing that the network requested more sci fi at the end of season 1 which worked okay, but in season 2 it just became too much and the show lost its heart and character focus

I'm hearing the theme tune in my head right now *g*

It's so strange how the actors playing Liz and Kyle look like they've barely aged in 15 years! I mean they all look great now actually, but you could tell me that the picture of Shiri was taken just a couple of years after Roswell ended and I would believe it

Oh man, Roswell...so long ago. :) I think if someone asked me now, I wouldn't even be able to retell the whole plot. Well, there were aliens... ;)

I looooved S1. It was all downhill from there (especially S3, ugh), but I have fond fandom memories. I met some friends on then-MBTV that are still in my life. :)

Yeah season 1 felt like the only season where they knew what they were doing, they kind of threw everything at season 2 and it got a bit messy with the character retcons and random sci fi bits

I watched Roswell back in the day :) I don't remember if I ever made it till the end, I don't think so as I can't remember what happened or didn't happen ;) I've thought of giving it another go as well, but there's always other shows to watch instead.

I LOVED Roswell. It's one of the few I actually watched to the end and was the first I looked for when I found out about the wonderful world of streaming.

WOW! the guys have changed quite a bit, but the girls haven't aye?!

I was shocked with Shiri especially and how similar she still looks to the last season of Roswell!

True, it doesn't look like she's changed her look much over the years lol, but I guess why not if it's still working for her

Aww that's cute, I'm tempted to look for some Roswell video's on youtube. I was more of a Michael/Maria fan though *g*

I absolutely loved Roswell! I don't remember the third season all that well, but I definitely adored the first two seasons. I started out loving Liz/Max, and that never went away, but then Maria/Michael became the one pairing I was rooting for the most.

I need to get these seasons on DVD.

Michael/Maria were my favourite, especially in the first season. The make-out sessions on Roswell always seemed so intense compared to Dawson's Creek and Buffy *g*

*raises hand*

I wasn't as hardcore as a lot of people were but I loved the show. I didn't watch from the start and I didn't quite catch season 3 on TV so I got all caught up with the DVDs. What was season 3? I mean, I don't remember much of it except for Isabel basically rebelling and marrying that guy and then Michael/Maria not really ending together but much of the I'll always love you anyway and Max/Liz marrying in the end. Season 2 was already beginning to get weird anyway. Why'd they kill Alex though?

Anyway... this is a show that has seen the DVDs get in the "give" pile many a times and always manages to come back in the "keep" even though I haven't watched it once since that time I basically marathonned it. I need to watch it again.

Yeah same, I watched seasons 1 and 2 but missed season 3, I don't even remember now if BBC2 ever showed the final season? I was never a part of the online fandom, that much have been before I had internet access I think!

From what I recall they killed Alex because the actor had a scheduling conflict with a film that he wanted to do? He never felt like an essential part of the show anyway tbh, they never treated Alex/Isobel as seriously as the other two ships, and he was always missing a lot of episodes so I got the impression that they didn't really know what to do with that character
