I agree. I think Jane was really the love of Jesse's life and he never stopped being heartbroken over her. I think Jesse had a stronger bond with Brock than Andrea. It kinda amused me to see Jesse always ignoring his girlfriend so he could play with her kid. But yeah, Andrea and Brock were plot devices and they've served their purpose.
