For some reason they've not used the same promotional images for the SPN DVD's that they've been using for season 6 all along, but does anyone else find the original design about a million times better?

The new design is inexplicably hilarious to me; maybe because I just started rereading Good Omens and I'm on the bit at the start where Crowley is a snake?

I was just left wondering wtf they were thinking when I started seeing the posts saying this is the official artwork! In the past haven't they always used the same artwork for the DVD's as the promo pics that were originally associated with the season? At least for seasons 4 and 5 anyway, the DVD's had the promo pics that you always saw when that season was airing, although I'm not totally sure about the earlier ones

These have only just been unveiled as far as I'm aware, originally I heard they were season 7 promo pics, and then yesterday it's started coming out that it's the DVD cover design blegh. Talk about cheap-looking

Yeah, I'm not a fan of it :/ I'm hoping the UK DVD's for the complete season 6 will still have the cover from part 1, but then the UK and US DVD's normally have the same cover so I don't know what the chances are of that now that the design has been changed

I don't really understand why Sam has a snake, honestly. That was the thing last season, wasn't it? Plus, they're super airbrushed. It's weird.

I don't like the first one either though. It reminds me of guro. -_-

Maybe as a reference to soulless Sam? But that only lasted for half a season, so yeah I don't get it

There is another one I've seen floating around with Sam, Dean, and Castiel which I thought looked pretty cool, but I suppose they would want to keep it as just Sam and Dean for the main cover

My first thought was: "How do I get the job of the snake?" My second thought was: "Eww... they're all airbrushed." Not liking the official version. I also second what others already said here - the snake doesn't fit this season.

Which is really weird, because the whole "Sam's turning to the dark side" thing was played up so much more last year. This year, it wasn't so much about him being evil as just caught in a helpless situation, and the snake imagery doesn't exactly convey that. Oh, well. When has the CW made logical decisions?

I loved the original design, I thought it looked so sharp! The pictures were nice choices, and I liked that it looked more artistic than past DVD covers have been. The new official design just looks kind of tacky in comparison, and as many people have said, too airbrushed and the snake makes no sense! :\ This is definitely the worst DVD cover yet.

I thought it looked pretty interesting too, at least it's something different from the usual shot of them just posing together :shrug:

I'm really disappointed they decided to change it, especially as the original design has already been used for the official companion and the UK split DVD's, so it seems that they only came up with the new design at the last-minute for some reason
